Questions about Sebastian/Jonathan | Interview with Cassandra Clare

agarotaquasesemhistorias said: Hey Cassie! You’re one of my favorite writers of all times!!! I think CP2 actually made accidental horcruxes of mine because my soul was definitely shattered. Well, I’ve always loved Sebastian’s character, because his story is so complex and there’s so much we don’t know about him. I wish we had gotten more time to see what he could’ve been… Is that possible? To see a what if? Also Jem believed in reincarnation. Is it true in the story?

I wouldn’t want to commit to a specific what if. There are too many factors that have gone into making Jonathan who he is. A Jonathan with demon blood, but not raised by Valentine is one thing. A Jonathan without demon blood, but raised by Valentine is something else. A Jonathan without demon blood and not raised by Valentine might be what we saw in Clary’s dream — that’s as close to a what-if as I think we’ll ever get.

As for Jem being right — I can’t tell you what happens when you die. I don’t know. The characters in the book don’t know. Jem believes what he believes. But none of them, even if they are Shadowhunters, have the answer to life after death.  Continue reading

Mockingjay Teaser Trailer!

Today President Snow addressed the citizens of Panem saying  “If you resist the system, you starve yourself. If you fight against it, it is you who will bleed.” President Snow is also joined by Peeta, who was captured at the end of Catching Fire and taken to the Capital.

“A sound escapes me. The same combination of hasp and groan that comes from being submerged in water, deprived of oxygen to the point of pain. I push people aside until I am right in front of him, my hand resting on the screen. I search his eyes for any sign of hurt, any reflection of the agony of torture. There is nothing. Peeta looks healthy to the point of robustness. His skin is glowing, flawless, in that full-body-polish way. His manner’s composed, serious. I can’t reconcile this image with the battered bleeding boy who haunts my dreams”

These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner Spoiler Free Review!

Synopsis:

The night begins like any other night on board the Icarus. Then, catastrophe strikes: the massive luxury spaceliner is yanked out of hyperspace and plummets into a nearby planet. Lilac LaRoux and Tarver Merendsen survive. And they seem to be alone.

Lilac is the daughter of the richest man in the universe. Tarver comes from nothing, a young war hero who learned long ago that girls like Lilac are more trouble than they’re worth. But with only each other to rely on, Lilac and Tarver must work together, making a tortuous journey across the eerie, deserted terrain to seek help.

Then, against all odds, Lilac and Tarver find a strange blessing in the tragedy that has thrown them into each other’s arms. Without the hope of a future together in their own world, they begin to wonder—would they be better off staying here forever?

Everything changes when they uncover the truth behind the chilling whispers that haunt their every step. Lilac and Tarver may find a way off this planet. But they won’t be the same people who landed on it.

A timeless love story, THESE BROKEN STARS sets into motion a sweeping science fiction series of companion novels. The Starbound Trilogy: Three worlds. Three love stories. One enemy.

My Review:

These Broken Stars was one of those books that you read and then as soon as you get done with it you search for another book like it. After reading Alienated I have been a huge sci-fi kick and These Broken Stars was the perfect book for me to pick up! Now sci-fi and aliens are two different things, so if you thought reading this book you would you encounter some hot aliens, you’re wrong. But, this book does have a totally swoon worthy human character named Tarver.
